What are the goals of an SEO Audit?
To determine what you need to do to obtain a higher placement in search engine returns. This means you need to know your keywords, their rankings and be on top of content etc.
How is an SEO Audit Conducted?
Our first step is to meet with you (in person or telephone) and set the general goals and timeline. During this initial meeting we will review your goals for improvement and establish a list of keywords.
After this initial meeting, we will analyze your site by focusing on the following:
i. Keywords – We will review which keywords are being used and determine if any new words will generate greater traffic. Keywords will be identified as either General or Specific for easier maintenance.
ii. Search Engine Keyword Rankings – All keywords provided are run against selected search engines to determine current placement of your site.
iii. Search Engine Competitor Rankings – Identified competitor sites will be reviewed and ranked according to your site’s keywords to determine relative placement.
iv. Keyword Ranking Benchmarks – In order to measure improvements post SEO audit, a performance level is established before and after changes made by the audit.
v. Underlying Site Structure and On Page Factors – How the site is designed, coded and written all play a role in search rankings. These will be reviewed and we will identify what is working well, and where improvements can be made.
vi. Ranking, Indexing and Other Measures – Alexa Rankings, Google Page Rank, etc. How many pages of your site are indexed, etc are analyzed.
vii. Site Usability – How well the site performs its target actions will be reviewed to determine how well your customers will receive your site. If you have qualified traffic coming to your site, it is important to try our best to convert them to customers.
viii. Directories and Link Exchange Programs – A review of directory listings, as well as link exchange programs will be conducted to determine the effectiveness of referral traffic.
ix. Traffic Analysis – A comprehensive review of your site’s primary sources of traffic is performed with an eye towards identifying both top performers and new sources.
